Alex Minicozzi

Giusi Silvestri
Co - founder / Counsellor & Player Welfare Manager

As the Player Welfare Manager and Counsellor for ATHLETE IQ, Giusi works within the realm of culture development, leadership, personal development, communication styles and relationships/connections. With a practical knowledge of HR, sport management and elite behaviour, Giusi is a therapist and consultant who offers advice, teaches practical steps about how to cope with life and sport’s difficulties through the execution of programs and interventions to optimise performance for her clientele. Giusi continually refreshes her expertise in neurosciences, attachment theory and neuro-linguistic programming. She can share successful strategies that can help you to achieve positive change in your life by exploring and resolving the source of conflicts and dissatisfaction within deep and persistent problems. Giusi has worked with performance artists, athletes and teams from a variety of sports, such as Olympic basketballers, cricketers, AFL and AFLW players and tennis professionals to name a few. She also consults with coaches, parents, management teams and runs ATHLETE IQ performance seminars and workshops.

Chris haddock
sports psychologist

Chris completed his Master of Applied Psychology (Sport and Exercise) at the University of Queensland. Since then Chris has achieved Endorsement in the Area of Practice of Sport & Exercise Psychology. He is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and College of Sport and Exercise Psychologists, and is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.


Chris displays integrity, passion and expertise in promoting consistent peak performance for individuals, athletes and coaches. As an experienced Sport & Exercise Psychologist Chris has demonstrated a passion for his work in High Performance sport. He brings a flexible, open and unique style of consulting allowing him to work and facilitate elite performance in a variety of settings.

Chris has had the opportunity to work with a number of organisations and clients: ranging from professional golfers (Royal Adelaide Golf Club), elite cricketers (South Australian Cricket Association), AFL youth academies (Gold Coast Suns and Brisbane Lions), SANFL club (West Adelaide Football Club), Professional Football club (Adelaide United), elite netballers, tennis players, soccer players, youth baseball athletes (Adelaide Giants High Performance Academy), elite athletics (runners- short and long distances), and many more.

Chris has displayed a vast array of knowledge in his 5+ years working in high performance sport, as well as bringing his own personal knowledge from being a semi-professional athlete. During this time Chris has worked with a wide range of clientele, including children and older adults. Chris was a primary school P.E teacher for 10 years and is passionate about sport, exercise and promoting health and wellbeing through psychology and physical activity. He encourages a multidisciplinary approach to general health and wellbeing with an emphasis on psychological, physical and environmental factors that affect behaviours and performance.

PERFORMANCE DIETICIAN B Nutr Diet, Dip Sports Nutr, M Nutr Diet

Marcela’s biggest motivation at the beginning of her studies was to help malnourished children in her country (Colombia), but then sports nutrition and the ability to influence her own cheerleading team’s performance with food was a big reason to continue with her studies to become a Dietitian. Marcela was an athlete for 19 years and has a wealth of experience as a Dietitian at the Swimming League of the State of Antioquia, Colombia. Marcela was the Sports Dietitian at the premier gym of the State Swimming League that was providing their services to the general public and elite athlete’s families. In Australia, she has experience working in private practice, currently she consults with Danny’s Place (Institute of Child & Adolescent Obesity Management), the RAAF and 360ME Nutrition.

Liam Gracey

A degree in exercise and sport science forms the basis of Liam’s wide ranging career in sports. First working for the Queensland Academy of Sport in Volleyball, Liam has a proven track record of developing athletes, in which three are now competing on the World Beach Volleyball Circuit and another being selected in the Australian Indoor Women’s Squad. Liam’s most notable accomplishment is working for John Millman (ATP#33), helping him prepare for Grand Slams and was his full time fitness coach on the ATP tour. Liam has worked with Grass Root athlete’s within Tennis Academies to running entire strength and conditioning programs within the elite private school system – with many of his athletes going on to gain pro contracts and medal at national events across a wide range of sports. His genuine care, trust and motivation to see best possible outcomes for his clients on and off the field, see him universally respected and regarded in the industry.

Consequently, we don’t subscribe to in vogue programs or fads. Our team is made up of university educated experts that use evidence-based methods. Athlete IQ embarks on learning and assessing the athlete/team before advising on customised work for individual athletes and teams progresses.
